What a great game of football!!

Who ever won this game would get promoted to the -A- Division!!

We dominated Brampton when we played them away, but lost the game 4-3. But not today!

Both teams started well, and Swavesey probably should have had a couple early on, but it was a nervous start with so much at stake. Swavesey moved up a gear after about 10mins and started to get on top and eventually the pressure paid off, Connor scoring from a superb Ewan cross after 13mins. Swavesey had a few more chances mainly falling to OC who just couldn-t hit the target today, but was working hard. I was just thinking about switching him for Ross (maybe he knew :-) ) when he chased down a lost cause, got the ball ran through from the right hand side and scored. I kept him on for the rest of the half...
Brampton had a good one on one, coming from a Swavesey mistake, but missed. A couple of mins later Swavesey missed an equally good chance. HT 2-0

Brampton came out for the second half in a better frame of mind, and had more want in their game (their Manager obviously giving them some encouragement during the break) and scored just 5 mins into the half, a bit of a mix up at the back, game on......... Swavesey didn-t allow their heads to go down however and Mark and Ross (who both came on at half time for Josh and OC) linked up well inside of a min from the restart, giving Swavesey that 2 goal cushion again! I did feel for Brampton, it seemed to hit them hard, as Swavesey once again gained the moment ion and pushed for that fourth goal. The next 20 mins or so Swavesey had most of the possession, created most of the cahnaces but just couldn-t score a mixture of excellent defending and a bit of bad luck.

The last 10 mins Brampton got it together again and the game was shared in terms of chances and possession and it became end to end stuff, really exciting, but both defences stood firm until with a min to go Brampton scored again. Unfortunately it was just to late in the game and Swavesey went on the win 3-2 and gain the promotion.

Well done to both teams!!
